This is a sample privacy policy template written for a fictional brand and is not legal advice. It does not reflect a real company's data practices. Always read the actual policy on the operator's live site and, if you need it, get advice from a qualified professional.

This page explains what personal information ilyacasino collects when you register, deposit and play, why we hold it, and the choices you have. If you only want to control tracking and analytics, that sits in our separate [cookie policy](/cookie-policy/) rather than here.

## Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the company that operates ilyacasino, licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. The controller decides why and how your data is processed and is your first point of contact for any privacy question. To reach the team handling these requests, use the details on our [contact page](/contact/) and mark your message for the attention of the data protection team.
## What we collect
We collect three broad types of data, most of which you can't opt out of because they're needed to run a licensed casino:
- **Identity and contact details** you give us at sign-up: name, date of birth, address, email and phone number.
- **Verification documents** required by law: ID, proof of address and sometimes proof of payment or source of funds.
- **Account and play activity**: deposits, withdrawals, bets, bonuses claimed, login times, device and IP information.
One point players often miss: age and identity checks aren't optional marketing steps. Under anti-money-laundering and licensing rules, we have to verify you, so refusing to supply documents will eventually freeze withdrawals rather than just limit features.
## How we use it
Each use is tied to a specific reason. In practice that means:
- **Running your account** — processing deposits and withdrawals, crediting bonuses, and providing support.
- **Meeting legal duties** — identity checks, anti-money-laundering monitoring, and responsible-gambling obligations.
- **Keeping the site safe** — spotting fraud, bonus abuse and multiple accounts.
- **Marketing** — only where you've agreed, and you can withdraw that consent at any time without it affecting your account.
## Sharing and international transfers
We don't sell your data. We share it only with parties who need it: payment providers to move money, identity-verification and fraud services, our licensing regulator, and IT suppliers who run the platform under contract. If data moves outside your region, it's protected by recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Payment specifics are handled by the providers shown in our cashier, and you should also read each provider's own privacy terms.
## How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we have a reason to. Two things to expect: while your account is open, we retain everything needed to run it; after you close it, licensing and anti-money-laundering law requires us to hold certain records for a set period (commonly several years) before deletion. So closing an account does not wipe your history immediately — that retention is a legal requirement, not a choice.
## Your rights
You can ask us to:
- **Access** a copy of the data we hold on you.
- **Correct** anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- **Delete** data, where no legal duty requires us to keep it.
- **Restrict or object** to certain processing, including marketing.
- **Port** your data to another provider in a common format.
To use any of these, contact the data protection team via our [contact page](/contact/). A practical tip: keep marketing consent and account records separate in your own mind — you can switch off promotional emails whenever you like, but you can't erase transaction records we're legally bound to retain. If you're unhappy with how a request is handled, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
## Keeping your data secure
We use encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring to protect your information, but no system is completely risk-free. You reduce your own exposure by using a strong, unique password, enabling any two-factor login option, and never sharing account credentials. If you spot activity you don't recognise, contact support straight away.
## Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The version shown here is the current one, and material changes will be flagged on-site or by email where appropriate. It's worth checking the date at the top before you assume nothing has moved.
## Play safe with your data and your money
Protecting your account is also part of gambling responsibly. Alongside a secure login, use the tools in your account to stay in control: set deposit, loss and session limits, trigger a cooling-off time-out when you need a break, or apply self-exclusion to lock yourself out for a longer period. If gambling stops feeling fun, our [responsible gambling](/responsible-gambling/) page lists these tools and links to independent support. You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
